In collaboration with clients Paul and Sheryl, presenters of Distant Shores, we are planning a Launch Weekend to celebrate the completion of the Enksail Orion 49. On Saturday April 20 the festive program will take place at our yard, including a special dinner, ship christening and a guided tour. You are warmly invited to attend.
Distant Shores
Canadians Paul and Sheryl Shard of Distant Shores are known for their sailing videos on television and YouTube. They have visited many countries and sailed seas on their yachts over the course of 30 years. They share their experiences and videos about specific topics on board with followers from all over the world. And so too about the Enksail Orion 49. Paul and Sheryl take viewers through their experiences and share what it is like to have a semi-custom built sailing yacht built at Gebroeders van Enkhuizen. The videos can be viewed here.
All the knowledge and experience they have gained while sailing also requires a sailing yacht that meets this. That’s how they ended up with the Enksail Orion 49. An aluminum sailing yacht with hybrid propulsion that allows them to meet the demands of their ongoing global adventures. Its construction is almost complete, which calls for a festive christening of the ship with additional program.
Program
The Enksail Orion Launch Weekend kicks off on Saturday, April 20. Starting at 10 AM, you are welcome aboard the Enksail Orion 49. Paul and Sheryl of Distant Shores will be happy to show you around. But there may also be other sailing yachts you can board. In addition, take a look at KM Yachtbuilders in Makkum who are hosting an open day.
In the evening the festive program begins. From 6:30 PM you are welcome to enjoy a pleasant evening in the beautifully decorated tent at our yard. At about 7 PM it is time for a glass of champagne, because then the official ship christening will take place. A minister will be present to christen the ship. This is followed by a delicious buffet with diverse food to choose from including various salads, culinary main dishes such as chicken in wine sauce and beef stew, and a variety of side dishes. We will close the dinner with a delicious dessert. Tickets for this festive evening can be purchased here.
